Protek Systems Raises $25,000 for Local Charity

London, ON (October 1, 2008) - Protek Systems, the regions’ leading technology provider, hosted their annual Charity Pool Day & Auction at The Hustler Billiard Hall on Saturday, September 27, 2008. In celebration of Protek’s 25th anniversary, this was an opportunity for the local business to give back to the community and continue to provide ongoing dedication and support to local charities. The event was a huge success raising $25,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario – Expansion Project!
Over 150 people made up of vendors, clients, staff and family/friends attended the day long event. Through generous sponsorship, silent and live auctions plus pool tournament registration fees they reached their committed goal of $25,000.
Harvey Schilke, President and CEO of Protek Systems stated, “We are just delighted on the response we get every year to our Charity Pool Day. Our suppliers, our clients and our team at Protek really get behind this event as evidenced once again by this year’s outstanding results. It is very gratifying to be able to play a small part in helping Ronald McDonald House who plays such a big part in those families’ lives who have children with life threatening health conditions. “

For more than 23 years, Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario has been fulfilling its mission by providing support and service to hundreds of families from across Southwestern Ontario (and sometimes across the country) who find that they must travel to London to seek life-saving treatment for their child. Now offering accommodation to 17 families they have clearly outgrown their current facility and are positioned for expansion, which will enable them to support the needs of 37 families.
